Frequently Asked Questions
People often ask for information about chiropractic, what conditions can be treated? How long do I have to go? Does insurance cover chiropractic? etc… With this website, you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions in our office. I hope these cover any that you may have and help you to make the best decisions possible about your healthcare.
One of the most frequent questions I get is, “What is a Chiropractor?”
So here is the answer in 30 seconds:
A chiropractor is a doctor educated in the treatment of the spine with at least 8 years of college training. Just as orthodontists correct crooked teeth, a chiropractor treats crooked spines.
If a spinal bone (vertebrae) is out of alignment, it can pinch on the nerves that come out of the spine. These nerves control everything in your body from your heart, lungs, and stomach, to the muscles in your arms and legs. Whatever part of the body these pinched nerves supply will not work right and you may experience a symptom such as pain or numbness.
Without using surgery or drugs, a chiropractor performs a technique called an adjustment, releasing pressure on the nerves caused by these spinal misalignments, and allowing the symptoms to go away.
How much does it cost?
Most insurance plan include chiropractic coverage since it has proven to be a less invasive and more cost effective treatment than surgery. If you do not have insurance or Cincinnati OH chiropractor, is not in your network, we will gladly work with you to find a payment plan that fits your budget.
Does it hurt to get adjusted by a chiropractor?
No, however some patients can experience muscle soreness in the surrounding tissue. We do everything we can to minimize any discomfort you may experience.
How long will it take?
Our treatment plans are tailored to your individual condition. We do our best to get the best results for you in the least amount of time.
I heard once you start chiropractic, you have to go forever. Is that true?
There is a definite end to our corrective treatment plans. Most patients elect to continue with wellness care due to the great result they get!
Will I have to have x-rays?
Not everyone needs x-rays, however, depending on what the doctor finds during the examination, x-rays may be warranted, so we take x-rays because “to see is to know, not to see is to guess” and we will not guess about your health.
